Orange Game Boy Advance with a badly damaged and scratched LCD screen

GBA #002 Citrus Orange

This is really the first one I ordered from eBay. It is heavily corroded and will be my longer term repair. Lots of traces are corroded and one of the larger capacitors leaked and corroded. One of the inductors is broken in pieces. I am not so worried about cost as I’m learning about what it takes to repair these, keeping my skill up and sharing my progress!

The back shows a lot of dirt. Dirt covers the case as well.

Is this rust or dirt? I might remove to clean underneath.

The pins for the cartridge connector aren’t bent but there is corrosion

This is where I got excited and removed the inductor. The center broke and was being held together by the wires. It’s ready for a new one. VDRV5

This needed so much cleaning. I’m surprised the pads are left. The solder was very oxidized and had to be scraped off before heat could transfer from the tip of the iron.
